Bathurst superstar heads back for more
New Zealand racing car champion Greg Murphy is coming out of retirement to drive in October’s Bathurst 1000.
The four-time winner will take the drive in an Erebus Motorsport wildcard entry alongside fellow Kiwi driving ace Richie Stanaway.
Murphy’s comeback comes seven years after retiring from racing and marks his 23rd Bathurst 1000 start, having already bagged wins in 1996, 1999, 2003 and 2004. For most of us though his most famous Bathurst moment was his Lap of the Gods qualifying effort in ’03.
Murph has been a Men’s Health Week ambassador from the start of the campaign in New Zealand a dozen years ago. His message to Kiwi guys is simple: get to the doc, get yourself checked out each year, just like we do for our cars. Get onto it fellas.
